  • Wait until the Broadband start date before setting up the Router, and be aware that sometimes Broadband is only activated in the evening of the start date. For first time customers an engineer will setup the router for you.
  • 1. This guide shows installation of full fibre broadband, using an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) to connect to your router. If you are connecting via a BT Master socket please see the Router Quick Setup (Non-Full Fibre) topic.

    In the box you will find your Router, the Power Supply with UK adapter, 1 x Instruction booklet, 1 x Wi-Fi Keep Me Card, 1 x Broadband (DSL) cable (grey connectors), 1 x Ethernet network cable (yellow connectors) and 1 x Phone adapter cable.

  • 3. Position the router making sure it's up off the floor and as in the open as possible.

  • 4. To begin, plug the ONT into the power supply provided with the ONT and ensure it's powered on.
    Indicated by the power light on the ONT.
  • 5. Plug the green Optical cable coming from outside your property into the Optical port on the ONT
  • 6. Connect an ethernet cable from Port 1 on the ONT.
    Important: If your ONT has more than one port and you were told to use a different port number at the point of sale, please use the one you were given instead.
  • 7. Connect the other end to WAN port (red port) on router.
  • 8. Assemble the router's plug. Make sure the two parts are correctly in line this will allow the two parts to slide together.
    If assembled correctly you should here a click as the plug fits together.
  • 9. Turn over one part of the plug and line up the slots. Then slide the two parts of the plug together and connect to the mains power.
  • 10. Connect to the mains power.
  • 11. Connect the other end to power supply to the router.
  • 12. Press the power button to turn the router on.
  • 13. Wait for LAN and PON lights on ONT to turn green.
  • 14. Wait for the Statusstatus inline, Broadbandbb inline and Internetwww inline lights on router to turn green.

    If it stays red for more than 10 mins it means the internet is not connected — check the broadband activation date and if it has passed then switch off the router for 3 mins and turn it back on again.
